| ABOUT US |
GOUGE Pro Wrestling On April 21, 2006, Professional Wrestling Promoter Greg Mosorjak, otherwise known as "Count Grog", promoted the first GOUGE Wrestling event at King's Barcade in Raleigh, North Carolina. Based out of Raleigh, GOUGE Wrestling mixes a comedic view of some of professional wrestlings most popular gimmicks, with some of the hottest up and coming wrestlers on the independent scene. GOUGE Wrestling and its Superstars have hosted events in North Carolina cities such as Raleigh, Stem, Apex, Allensville, Butner, Fuquay Varina, Youngsville, Seagrove, and Wake Forest.
Promoter: Greg Mosorjak Although GOUGE began in 2006, promoter Greg Mosorjak has deep roots in professional wrestling, and has been involved with the independent scene for more than 30 years. In 1977, Greg authored a monthly wrestling bulletin/newsletter called "Inside the Squared Circle", and later "Ringside Seat". The newsletter covered all the news and latest results from "the territories" and included reports, monthly recaps, and photos. Greg's staff included future personalities such as WCW's Mark Curtis (Brian Hildebrand), Ken Jugan (Lord Zoltan), Jim Cornette, Norman Dooley (Dave Meltzer's buddy who devised the match rating system), Pete Lederberg (Florida photographer legend), and Elio Zarlenga, who later worked in the WWF office. Mosorjak's publications covered the main stream of wrestling, but also heavily covered the hottest independents throughout the country. In 1978, Greg began refereeing while still in high school and was known as "Punk Rock Mason". He continued as a referee for "3 Rivers Wrestling" in 1982, and later became a Manager while in CCWA, an independent based out of Smithfield, NC. Greg promoted his earliest events in 1983 as part of West Virginia Championship Wrestling in Morganton, WV, and also managed there under Greg "Punk Rock" Mason. In 1994, the monicker known as "Count Grog" was born.. From 1994-2004, "Count Grog" promoted Southern Championship Wrestling (SCW), and enjoyed great success promoting future WWE Superstars such as Edge, Christian, and Jeff & Matt Hardy. All in all, Greg Mosorjak has worked for every major independent in North Carolina and many in South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York. He has served as wrestler, manager, referee, promoter, match commentator, and ring announcer. This website would like to thank Greg for his years of commitment to independent wrestling and his tireless desire to promote the superstars of tomorrow.
